A beach bum from Rio de Janeiro-Brazil, I grew up surfing but after 20 years of mediocre surfing skills, I abandoned the salty waters in my early 20’s to ride my childhood dream wave of a big league advertising career.
Holding down to my title as the least cool surfer in history, I haven’t surfed in more than 10 years and my toes only hit the sand now when I’m on vacation.
Hi, I’m Philipe. I also go by “Flip”.
A Creative Director currently at freelance after a short stint helping lead the Popeyes account.
During my tenure, we launched Popeyes’ new wings offering resulting in sales that drove Popeyes from zero to #3 QSR wings seller in the country. They also had the highest quarterly digital sales ever and around that same time they became the #2 fried-chicken player in the country, surpassing KFC.
Prior to that, I worked at Highdive in Chicago where I helped lead the Airheads and Fruit-tella accounts. We eventually helped grow the relationship with Perfetti Van Melle bringing in Mentos and Chupa-Chups.
I believe that with so much going on, it's getting more and more difficult to get anyone to pay attention to anything (especially advertising) and I love that challenge. I enjoy creating culturally relevant work that cuts through and makes people want to interact with a brand and share with friends. Building simple and yet insightful stories consumers can relate to.
I have experience working on giant brands and teeny-tiny ones. Big budgets and almost non-existing budgets. Above, below and through the line. It’s about coming up with big ideas and finding the best ways to bring them to life.
